Who doesn't love the general forum?
I know I already told Chris about my idea for a small 1-2 Shot campaign I'll be running over this break, and the good/bad news is...scratch all that stuff.
I started writting a one shot for some friend back in Pennsylvania, and I realized that I like the idea so much, that I'm brining it to Arizona as well.
The idea is to run a quests for a group of 3-4 level five adventurers. I'm trying to include some of the archtype/cliche NPC's and adventure handles. Hopefully it will be a fun, humorous, and exciting adventure full of bloods, guts, loots, and boobs. Scratch the boobs.
But really, I hope that I can effectively run a level five campaign for you guys and not waste your precious dice rolling time.
P.S. 25 Point buy system, and use the "loot table" in the DMG for gold.

Aw c'mon! No b(. Y .)bies?!
So you are still DM'ing over X-mas Break then? I got confoozd. If yes, what dates? My new job starts the 7th, and I definitely can't ask for time off yet, so it'll have to be a Sat/Sun thing, and Sunday is usually mine and Emily's day together.
We're probably looking at a play-group of three, with me, Mark, and Matt, if they're all down. I would try to get my bro to play, but he still hasn't made a single 3.5 character, and certainly would be overwhelmed at level 5.
In regards to the character creation... Are there any other restrictions? And, what about magic items? Anything out of the core DMG that we can afford?
FYI, if you're letting me make a level five character, you're in for a treat. I'm going to min/max out of the ass and still have a good backstory to back it up! =P

Affirmative. I'll still be DM'ing over the break and it looks like it'll be on the 16th. If all goes according to plan. If not then we can do it when I get back from PA (early Jan), in which case it will run smoother anyway.
I was trying to write an educated response to the buying out of the DMG question, but I don't have it near me and I suck with the SRD. So off the top of my head, I'd say no items more expensive than 750 G. That should give you room to play around with some low to mid level scrolls and potions.
Also feel free to outfit yourself with a masterwork (or mithril or any other material with a +1) weapon. You're level five so you have some adventuring under your belt and have slain an orc or two so its to be assumed you have a few connections and l00t.
But just as a fail safe, if you've equipped yourself with something and you think it might be a little over powered, just tell me and I'll give it a thumbs up or down.
Happy character creation!

Dilema.
So I realize that Sunday is Chris + Emily time, but I was wondering if would be in any way possible to play on Sunday. The reason being even though Matt's performance isn't until the evening, he has to spend almost the entire day at Buena preparing for the show.
If it can't be done, so be it, and we can play in Jan. Either way works for me really, but if you want to play now, I think Sunday is the only day that we can. Just hit me back on the forum or call me to tell me.
